Ilse Crawford
Ilse Crawford is a designer, academic, and creative director with a simple mission to put human needs and desires at the center of all that she does. As founder of Studioilse, she brings her philosophy to life designing interiors, furniture, and products that support and enhance human behavior and actions in everyday life.
Ilse Crawford respectfully reimagined Hans J. Wegner’s iconic design with nine matte colors, inspired by the expressionist works of Danish artist Per Kirkeby, a nod to the raw beauty of the Nordic landscape. Eco-friendly, water-based and resilient, each has a matte finish to allow the natural beauty of the FSC™-certified beech wood grain to shine through each design, creating a nuanced sense of color and texture (FSC C135991). The paper cord seat of each design is woven by hand from paper cord.
